Nov 09 Hockey Success Finally, our hockey teams have had amazing success this term in the Witney School’s Tournament. Our children played really well- our boys were runners up and our girls won, for the second year running. This means that both our teams go through to the West Oxfordshire Tournament in February. I would like to thank Mrs Haynes, Mrs Forest, Matthew Comley and Joel Scarffe for all their hard work and dedication. Well done all! Coffee Afternoon Just to remind you we are having a coffee afternoon at 2.40pm on Wednesday 25th November. Please do come along. Non School Uniform Day We are having a non school uniform day on Monday 30th November for the Christmas Fete. If your child would like to wear their own clothes to school then they need to bring a full bottle or tin of something for the tombola. Christmas Fete The Christmas Fete will be on Thursday 3rd November at 3.15pm until 5pm. Please come along and share in the festive celebrations. Pond Club Children in Year 6 are keen to get the pond in the wild area up and working as a learning resource. A Pond Club has been formed, which meets every other Tuesday, run by Mr Dick and Mrs Nelson. A priority is to get the area fenced off; if any parent is able to help in any way with the fencing, please could they contact us? The Pond Club will have a stall at the Christmas Fete to raise money for this renovation of the pond. Greenhouse Thank you to everyone who has already brought in 2 litre plastic bottles – we still have a long way to go to reach our target of 2500 bottles, in order for us to make our greenhouse, so please keep collecting and bring them into school on Fridays. Oct 09 Admissions- polite reminder Deadline dates for applications for Foundation Stage (September 2010) is 13th November and for Secondary school (September 2010) is 2nd November. Auction of Promises Many thanks to all parents who supported the Auction of Promises fund-raiser for our Parish. Over 40 promises were received and a very enjoyable evening was had by all, raising a total of £776. From the proceeds a donation of £134 will be made to the Friends of the School.  |
